What do We do with Our Privilege?
We are all privileged in a certain way. So, instead of feeling shameful of our own advantages, we should ask the question: How can we leverage our privilege to help the less privileged? I read this in my Bible today:
“Treat one another justly.
Love your neighbors.
Be compassionate with each other.
Don’t take advantage of widows, orphans, visitors, and the poor.
Don’t plot and scheme against one another—that’s evil.”
It’s our responsibility to read convicting words and put them into practical action in our own lives. So, with the verses above, what can you do?
You might have influence you can utilize to inspire your people to volunteer.
You might have money you can spare for the poor in your community.
You might have clothes you can donate to your local Goodwill.
Turn your devotion into action.
