Taking Care of Yourself
If you love your body, your body will love you back.
The best way you can love others is by taking care of yourself. The spectacular results of mental, spiritual, and physical exercise sets the stage for our ability to be joyful and generous. It’s possible to love others without taking care of your own needs, but it is not a long term solution.
Sometimes the most selfless thing to do is to take care of yourself. When I’m at my best with my own habits, I am the best with my relationships. This takes commitment though, and most of the time you won’t feel putting on your running shoes or picking up that book, but for the sake of the people you love, do it anyway. It takes managing yourself to manage your relationships well.
