Not Cookie Cutter
There are absolutely underlying principles under everything. With that said, relationships can defy principles. At some point in friendships, you and the other person have to simply figure it out together. There is only so much advice and books to read until we realize that every human connection is different from the next.
It's kind of scary when the ball is in your court to make a decision, past the family, movies, and mentors. That's the beautiful frustration of it. No relationships is cookie cutter, they are ALL personal, they are all distinguished.
