Just Show Up

The reason why people do not see their dreams realized is because it's hard to show up, day in and day out.

For some stupid reason, I decided to show up at the gym every weekday at 6 AM for a program called "Insanity". This program is around 30 minutes of death. Living in Ohio at the time in the month of January, I remember mornings in where sub zero temperature would penetrate my skin as I opened the door of my apartment to walk to our local gym. Feeling like death, I would try to think about anything besides the fact that my nostril hairs were frozen, most of time it didn't work.

Arriving at the gym, I plastered a smile on my face as I shook the hands of the others that sacrificed their bodies for purpose of health. After warming up, the work out pumped so much adrenaline into my body, I often forgot the pain and the work it took just to be present.

For those 60 days, I didn't miss one day. After the fact, I realized that the hardest part was showing face. Something in me knew that the breakthrough was one on the other side of consistently showing up.

Are you consistently showing up for things that matter the most?
