What I learned from I♥️CV

My dirty hands reached down to pick up another brick as sweat fell from my brow. 1000s of bricks later, we finally finished the project. As the owner of the BMX track gathered all of us together at the end of the day, he gave an emotional speech, thanking all of us for the work that he’s been wanting to finish for years. This is just one story of many.

Here’s this thing: I’ve never been more proud of our Church. This weekend, 1000’s of people, in over 150 projects, descended into our city in order to beautify it. I was overwhelmed with the stories and the gritty hard work that came from this audacious mission. Over the 1000’s over hours dedicated, I learned one very big lesson…

My biggest discovery from I♥️CV:

My devotion to God should always lead to action.

I was hungry and you fed me,

I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,

I was homeless and you gave me a room,

I was shivering and you gave me clothes,

I was sick and you stopped to visit,

I was in prison and you came to me.

Christianity is really boring if we are not living it out. God is alive, moving, shaping, and forming the world around us. Either we can be a part of the Kingdom descending on earth by being active participants or choose to let someone else do it. This weekend reminded me how fun it truly is to be an active player in the Kingdom of God.
