There's a myth that makes me frustrated.
There's a myth that emotions are not vital to the human experience. They're simply just outcomes of a circumstance, a product of our environment.
Here's my thoughts:
A part of a emotionally healthy lifestyle includes having emotions. It's actually healthy to feel.
- I hope you feel pain when someone opens up to you about their anxiety.
- I hope you feel happiness when someone buys you ice cream.
- I hope you feel grateful when your mom says she's proud of you.
Emotions, the ebb and flow of them, injects color into every circumstance. Emotions are the birthmark that separates us from every other animal. Emotions are what makes us human.
