Did I hear Vacation?
Last night I got on a plane from San Diego to Maine. I haven’t taken a vacation for over eight months. Needless to say, I am very excited to get away for 10 days. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, I love my people, I love my life… but it’s a lot of work. Being a pastor means getting late night calls and working unconventional hours. Being a Masters student means fitting the writing of essays on my "off days". This season of my life is a lot to handle, but it's what I signed up for.
I don’t think I will realize how much I needed this vacation until I’m in the midst of it. My family owns a small shed on a river that my mother renovated into a tiny home. I plan to read a lot of books, journal, pray, and spend time with my family. I don’t want to have a schedule, I don’t want to have a list 3085 to-do items. This is my hope, let's see how it turns out.
Well, here I go, getting on the plane. Let’s do it!
