Boring Christianity

Blog Frame .png

If devotion does not lead to action, it is not true devotion in the first place.

The words before the verse below speak, “I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies!” In other words, we gather not simply for the sake of gathering. We gather so we can be sent out: enacting justice and displaying righteousness through creating practical solutions to those who need it.

But let justice roll on like a river,
righteousness like a never-failing stream!
— The Bible

Christianity is really boring if we are not living it out. God is alive, moving, shaping, and forming the world around us. Either we can be a part of the Kingdom descending on earth by being active participants; or, we can simply sit at large assemblies, read books, and pray that someone would help the marginalized so we can continue to be passive consumers of a fake Christianity.

If you are a part of a large assembly, make sure that you are being led to action. If you are not, find new assemblies.

How are you enacting justice in your corner of the world?
